In the Area

With such an active local community and varied landscape, we are spoilt for choice for things to see and do. Both Artworx and Art@Goolwa art galleries showcase local and emerging artists. If the beach isn't your vibe then consider the 20 minute walk to Goolwa River and relax on the grass. Kayaks can be hired, bird hides explored, seals seen on the historic Goolwa Barage. If great food is what you're after, we recommend Kuti Shack for fish and chips, Hay St Bar and Kitchen for something more special, Mother Duck for breakfast and coffee. Saltwater Cafe for casual takeaway, or Goolwa Bakery for pastries. Currency Creek wine region is only a 10 minute drive away, to sample and stock up on some delicious local SA wines. And on most Sundays the Goolwa Wharf Rotary Market offers an eclectic selection of boutique or bargain finds, along with delicious snacks or produce.
